Pastoral Prayer for September 11, 2022

Please allow the following words to become your own:

Heavenly Father,

I stand before you filled with hope.  

I’m hopeful even when this world seems very dark,

because you’ve said that you will could be done right here,

on earth as it is in heaven.

May your will be done.

Teach me to discern your will by the counsel of your Holy Spirit.

Awaken me to your guiding light.

Grant me the gift of counsel.

Teach me creative ways to deal with my anger and resentment.

Help me not to indulge them, but to hand them over to you

for healing and transformation.

Father, teach me your own patience, compassion, and kindness.

Amen.
