Loving God,

You want to set the world right.

You want to see hungry people have enough food,

hurting people receive comfort,

endangered people find peace.

You are a God of justice, and you promise that

those who hunger for justice will be filled.

We pray now for people in crisis of all kinds.

For those who are a phone call or job posting

or court decree or timely gift away from turning their lives around.

Sustain them, Lord, and may they see their basic rights honored soon.

We pray also for those who hunger for justice will only become greater.

For those whose deliverance is a long time away,

bring hope and comfort today.

Carry them in your grace and mercy.

Let them know your love.

They will be filled, because you have promised that they will be.

Soon, O God, may it be soon!

And make us part of that filling.

May your justice bring us joy.

Open our eyes and rekindle our convictions.

Show us where we can make things right.

And give us the courage to act.
